Rust en Vrede Restaurant
Since opening in 2007, the Rust en Vrede Restaurant has shaped the way we think about wine and food. Our aim is to show guests how a dining experience can be heightened by the combination of outstanding wine with excellent food.
Our restaurant is housed in the Estate’s original cellar, a historic monument which has been transformed into a sophisticated yet relaxing fine-dining setting. We’ve done our best to preserve the unique charm of the building so that guests are transported back to simpler times, where good wine and food are central to the experience.
Chef Fabio Daniel serves contemporary French cuisine, adding his own unique flair taking inspiration from his Brazilian and Italian heritage. Having worked under both previous head chefs, David Higgs and John Shuttleworth, he continues our tradition of sourcing only the freshest and best ingredients from sustainable producers.

Stellenbosch Reserve
First conceived in 2005, Stellenbosch Reserve has found a new home. Located on the slopes of the Helderberg, at a slightly higher elevation than neighbouring Rust en Vrede Wine Estate, the new Stellenbosch Reserve Tasting Room & Restaurant overlooks the rolling vineyards of the winelands and is embraced by the surrounding mountains. The wines reflect the Stellenbosch viticultural landscape, and the menu offers the sophistication of Mediterranean cuisine combined with the rustic charm of home cooking.

De Volkskombuis
In 1902 Sir Herbert Baker established labourers cottages constructed on the old farm formerly known as Vredenburg. In 1968 the property was acquired by Historical Homes to be restored and later leased as a restaurant. More recently, the building stood vacant and quite derelict for an extended period of time. During 2016 the Rupert family initiated a full restoration and today, De Volkskombuis operates once again as a restaurant serving patrons in the picturesque town of Stellenbosch.
